The Royal Norfolk Show 2026

Despite mixed weather conditions, the Norfolk NHS Health Checks and the Smokefree Norfolk (SFN) had a successful two days at the Norfolk Show, engaging with attendees, generating referrals, and raising awareness of stop smoking support services.

On day one, the team answered questions on vaping, quitting smoking, and available support options. Several meaningful conversations highlighted opportunities to encourage healthier lifestyles, including support provided to families affected by smoking-related health conditions. Younger visitors also engaged with the stand, helping to promote early awareness around smoking harms. Networking opportunities were further enhanced when an attendee with a high CO reading expressed interest in accessing stop smoking support in his local area.

On day two, visitor numbers increased significantly. The team built valuable new partnerships, including links with Voluntary Norfolk, the Norfolk and Waveney Diabetic Eye Screening Programme, and Norfolk County Council. Interest in Very Brief Advice (VBA) training was generated from multiple organisations, with follow-up discussions planned. Several smokers expressed interest in quitting after receiving advice on support options, nicotine replacement therapies, and behavioural support services.

Overall, the event delivered strong community engagement, generated referrals, and created a number of promising partnership opportunities.
